Bradford College Textile Archive

 We have an extensive collection of original labels, drawn from College and SDC sources,  which were produced for dye containers used in the textile and colouration industries during the nineteenth century.  Many originated in Germany and were exported to the colonies. The range of designs and typography are very elaborate and varied, often depicting a romanticised scene suggesting that the colour within will give a special quality to the fibre, fabric or print.
